Schijndel Dunes. A180 G135. Eub takes the Allies. I go with the following roster...MK III (X4)...MORTAR HALFTRACK...FJ PZSCHRECK...MG42...SCHUTZEN...AUFKLARER (X7). 3 VLS. The Germans capture the central and southern VLS. Good spotting reveals three Allied support units, AVRE... .50CAL MG and AB .30CAL MG. The AVRE blows 6 of 7 SCHUTZEN men after painful agonizing seconds went by when the SCHUTZEN refused to fire their PZFAUSTS for a good 5 seconds at 80 meter range. The German kommandant was not happy. The AVRE continues on its killing spree when several AUFKLARER soldaten earn their flying lessons. A MK III hits the AVRE dead on but only damages it. 2 crew members are dead. The AVRE stops in a direct LOS of the hidden FJ PZSCHRECK, some 90 meters away. The FJ PZSCHRECK must have been some kind of reject of the FJ school as he goes 0 for 8 against the AVRE. The German kommandant was yelling profusely. The AVRE sends a few more big blasts until another MK III establishes LOS from a location to the right of the FJ klutz. The MK III misses two shots at 95m. I was starting to think that this game will be over very quickly when your units are hitting s*it. The AVRE retreats northwards and right back into the LOS of the first MK III that damaged it. The MK III does not miss this time and finally eliminates the AVRE. The Allies are winning all the infantry skirmishes as Allied grenades and timely rushes destroy every German soldaten encountered. The Germans go for a southern foray but see a MK III get eliminated by a second AVRE. The Allied commander used a German smoke screen, set up for the MK III to advance and nail the panzer. A two man AUFKLARER nearby, run into the smoke cover and spot the AVRE rolling away from them at a 70m range. The FIRE order is repeatedly given but those f*cking morons refuse to fire their PZFAUST. The AVRE escapes !!! The Germans renew their tactics up north. An AUFKLARER with 2 MK IIIs in support attack the northern VL. An advance is made until a US AB RECON is encountered. The AB RECON takes a beating when one MK III starts sending HE and MG ammo its way. A hidden AB BAZOOKA takes two shots at the MK III which quickly starts retreating out of LOS. Suddenly, the AVRE shows up and evades a 77m PZFAUST shot from the AUFKLARER. The AVRE disappears from view and reappears a few moments later near the northern edge having turned around a bldg corner. The MK III under BAZ attack gets eliminated but another MK III nearby spots the AVRE only 45 meters away !!! The MK III refuses to fire !!!!!! WHAT ??? WHAT THE F*CK IS THIS ?? FIRE YOU GODDAMM KLUTZ !!!! The MK III simply stares and allows the AVRE to reverse and turbo itself out of LOS. All this took a good 15 seconds !!!! I could not believe it !!! A CROMWELL suddenly appears to the SE of the stupid MK III, it looks like CROMWELLS are more worthy than AVRES for this panzer crew as the MK III roars into action and knocks out the CROMWELL on its first shot. The Allies eliminate all remaining infantry with a roving band of BAR fanatics and the Germans are left with 2 MK IIIs. The German kommandant heads back south. One MK III gets stuck near the ammo dump bldg. The move order was clearly intended for the MK III to move in between the bldg and the Mortar HT wreck. There was enough room. The MK III sends word that it is stuck on a bldg corner and cannot move. I was saying to myself, why not ?? A few seconds later, a VICKERS burst followed by a 290mm blast obliterates the MK III. I was ready for the lunatic asylum. The last MK III forgoes all security and heads towards the AVRE location. It makes only 10 meters of roadway when an AB BAZ shot takes it out. A very frustrating game because of poor results in key situations and unknown refusals to fire in critical situations. Congrats to EUB !!!! PZL
