Classic AARs By: PZLeader Date: 2001-06-18| Hauptmann Dunes Map. A240 G175. A killer BM with 4 VLS around the main thoroughfare in the heart of town with deployment areas adjacent to the kill zone. The PZL takes the Germans and orders the following...STUH42, SS MK4, 2 MK3, 2 PAK 40, MG42, 3 FJ AUFKLARERS and 5 AUFKLARERS. Both AT GUNS cover the two north south lanes with the help of the STUH42. The SS MK4 covers the right rear while one MK3 covers the main highway with the last one behind one sand dune near the middle west edge. Cpt Abrams wooo hooos the game with an opening barrage of AVRES which knock out the STUH42 and one AT GUN. 2 AUFKLARERS gaining access to the VLS closest to the German side get evaporated in the process but not before one AVRE gets PZFAUSTED. Allied infantry takes the remaining 2 VLS but suffer casualties. Two AVRES continue the concerto and more German infantry suffer permanent ear damage. A move by a SHERM76 up north towards one of the north south lane is greeted by the second AT GUN who stayed hidden as long as possible. It took 4 shots to finally nail the SHERM76 as the building housing the PAK 40 kept receiving area fire from the another SHERM76. A third SHERM76 makes a move into the open area in the eastern sector but a quick move by the SS MK4 takes out the SHERM76 but not before it reduced an FJ AUFKLARER to one man after the German trio opened fire towards a sneaking AB BAZOOKA. The Allies still had 2 AVRES and a SHERM76 versus 2 MK3 and the SS MK4. The PAK 40 crew were too busy crying for their mammas to be a factor in this game anymore. Infantry casualties were heavy on the German side while the Allies still had about 50 percent left. Abrams patiently took command of all VLS and grabbed the attention of one MK3 with a reduced AB BREN. This allowed the last SHERM76 to roll up comfortably and knock out the MK3 from a distance of 115 meters when the MK spotted the Allied tank too late. The SS MK4 goes on a long southern journey to try to flank the SHERM76 but this one made a brillant move and placed itself behind the wreck of a fallen comrade. The unsuspecting SS MK4 never saw what hit it and four new coffins were ordered. One AVRE gets blasted by a PZFAUST shot but the German hero gets gunned down by on unrushing AB BREN which leaves the MK3 to tackle on two Allied tanks. Abrams does not waste any time as the last AVRE moves into position and sends the last panzer towards the heavens with a mighty blow. Early losses coupled with heavy infantry losses takes away early warning radar for the PZL who makes a valiant attempt but is finally crumpled under the Allied boot. Fun game with plenty of adrenaline rushes. GG CPT GG PZL |
