Random AARs By: hammer Opponent: amberdad Date: 2002-11-19| Commander Hammer had been recovering from his wounds for almost 2 years when he was recalled to active service. Having been sent back to the front lines in Holland he quickly fought four tough engagements but managed to pull off a victory in everyone until he came up against an old enemy. They would meet in battle at the Dunes fighting for 5 strategic location in the town. Kampfgruppe Hammer had a Hetzer FT supported by 3 Mk 3 tanks and SS infantry. The allies relied heavily on 2 AVREs supported by a 17lbr gun,sherman tank, stuart and a mixture of british and american infantry. As dawn broke both sides were moving into position. The allies draw first blood knocking out a MG unit as it crossed the street. The allies then launch a quick attack and secure on e of the southern objectives. It is quickly retaken by german troops who launch a vigerous counterattack. Now the allies bring up the AVRE and start pounding the city into ruins. The german infantry is forced to fall back out of range which allows the allies to once again secure the southern objective. Having no way to get the AVRE head on, I try to start a flanking manauver in the north with a MK 3 but a hidden gun dispatches him with one shot. With the AVREs covering allied bazooka move into position and score on another Mk 3. With losses mounting I give the order for a general attack on all fronts. In the north I manage to knock out one AVRE but it proves futile as both the Hetzer FT and last Mk 3 are lost in the south. My surviving infantry lose heart and flee the field with Commander Hammer following close behind escaping to figth another day. Well Done Amberdad.... Hammer Out |
