Random AARs By: Homba Opponent: FJFLikster Date: 2002-07-13| Game at the riverfront. Set up 3 tanks just east of the tracks for push across the top of the map. With one tank on tracks motoring forward. I knew AT gun could shoot the length of the tracks. I hosted fliks map because he couldnt manage to make his computer host. He let me choose side, and I am reporting as host since i had the no-lag advantage.
Anyway, my tank on the tracks got nailed by one of a FF, 17pounder and sherm76 sitting on the tracks. I found that my tanks just north of the tracks had semi-green LOS to these units, so i nailed the FF. Then my tank of its own accord began driving onto the tracks (probably thinking to get a clearer shot) my other tank also did this. I got caught up in the moment and abandoned my plan to drive along the north edge. Fought it out with the remaing enemy, and lost both tanks after damaging the AT gun. I should have ignored them, alertly pulled back my tanks when they drove on the tracks, and pursued my original plan. It worked well enough even with 1 tank left (mark3). My inf beautifully grenaded/fausted 2 daimlers that were stationed in my path, the limited LOS making this easy. I then ran into inf and zooks, and had the decisive fight of the game. A FF came up, and my mark smoked it. The fight was going well, until his 76 drove up and won a tank duel with the mark. I ran my last tank, a hetzer over the tracks past the AT gun and engaged the 76 in a duel that lasted some time, the tanks gaining and losing LOS and both missing at least once. My tank was however distracted by the men that Flik smartly pushed up the tracks, and turned south, giving the 76 an easy shot in the end. I enjoyed the game Flik, it had been too long since we played.
