Dunes 230 160. N-S vls and the germans are holed up early in the north. A gun protects the lanes, good fortune that no MKiii lingered too long there. 2 AVRE and 2 FF patrol, blasting german positions. The Germans are stuck, even though they held 3 of the 5 vls. A wounded mkiii keeps inf at bey in the north, and finally a strike on a FF is successful. To break up a massing of Allied units in the center a 3 mkiii is dispatched to provide supporting fire, while an AVRE lurks behind the row houses. Hoping for a faust or shreck shot,the mkiii moves in, then out, but too slowly and is blasted. Finally with vls slipping away, the remaining mkiii, having lost the 2nd to another lurking avre, breaks and runs for the east, after seeing the 2nd FF leave toward the west. Hoping the zooks are busy, the mkiii runs and makes it to the rear of the allied unit, killing 1 FF and 1 AVRE. Supported by mg42 a shreck misses the 2nd avre and the mkiii cant get a line on it either. escaping the mkiii pursues and ultimately is penned in by 3 zooks. Going for the gun in the north while hoping to spot the avre, the gun is surprised and encounters the mkiii after a few volleys by the tank. The 17 lbers barrel is practically hanging off the back end of the closely engaged mkiii when the tank explodes a round near its engine compartment, killing the tank and leaving the gun crew intact. vgg, good patience by k44
