Revenge is supposedly a dish best served cold, but apparently I put it too far back in the fridge and it froze; when it came time to dish it out, it was inedible and WW2Guy just gave it right back to me. This was the Nij. City map from the last Attack-Defend tourney. I played as Allies many weeks ago, and got my hat handed to me, even though at that time I thought Allies had the advantage. I learned the opposite was the case from WW2Guys flamers and aufs, who turned the city around the single vl into a citadel. So...I vowed to just use the same tactics...Took the same forces and doggone it if things didnt just go straight to hell. Key may have been that allied armor power this time was much more effective, killing both my flamers before they got off even one whoosh. Being behind a building wasnt safe for one from a 105 blast, the other died in the far back of a 2 story from a croc blast. The Croc died soon after from a shreck shot, but that was the high water point for the Germans. The game ended with a ring of BARs, a 50 cal and 2 zook teams pounding down my 3 auf teams and a shreck team. I almost won that battle of ammo expenditure, but too many healthy allies rushed the last numb german holdouts and ended the thing. The big difference between the two games was my ill advised decision to use a full schutzen, an auf and a sniper towards the front. They took out only a recon and half a BAR...far too little payoff for the expenditure. This was foolish, as any one of those units might have been enough to turn the tide in the final battle in the city. Well, that might have made it closer...but actually the Guy was just too much for me this time. Maaaaaaaaybe next time though. But I doubt it. GG!
