Random AARs By: Homba Opponent: _kilroy44 Date: 2003-12-21| My first game with kilroy. He hosted, 160g 230a, I chose the Son Town map. 5 VLs down the middle from north to south. I took a 17pounder in the 2 story, 2 FFs 2 Croms, and a brit AB mortar with heavy infantry and one zook. Kilroy took an excellent force of 3 Mark3, 1 Stug, 2 FJ schrecks, about 4 SS MGs, one FJ Aufk, 3 FJ Schutzen and 1 FJ Reserve.
Was a long game, 3+ hours, maybe 4, as these meetings can become. We both tried hard to win, it was a slow tag game among the VLs, though the emphasis shifted from VL to VL.
In the end it was his MGs that did me in, killing too many of my troops, and his super mark 3 that killed all 4 of my tanks. I felt in control for a while but kilroy slowly but surely wrested control away from me.
I enjoyed my first game against kilroy, seeing his determination, careful play, focused attacks, and perserverance, though i think it represents my allocation of meeting engagements for 2004. Looking forward to hosting an attack/defense for kilroy and trying for some revenge!
